Jax brings the coast to the coast-less. Inspired by the timeless fish houses of the East, West, and Gulf shorelines, we create incredible memories and share delicious food and drink with friends and family. We are a neighborhood seafood bar with a wild vibe of rocks popping, drinks shaking, pots and pans clattering from the counter bar, and laughter a happening. At Jax, our Bartenders & Oyster Shuckers are the curators of hospitality, responsible for guiding our guests through an exceptional dining experience. This dual-role position requires adaptability, skill, and a passion for both craft cocktails and fresh seafood.

Responsibilities :

  • Bartending : Craft and serve high-quality beverages while providing exceptional hospitality. Guide guests through our food and drink offerings with expertise and enthusiasm.
  • Oyster Shucking & Barbacking : Shuck and present the freshest oysters with precision and showmanship, engaging with guests at the raw bar. Assist in bar setup, stock maintenance, and overall service support.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of food, wine, and cocktail pairings.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, seamlessly transitioning between roles as needed.
  • Work efficiently with kitchen and bar equipment, including knives, slicers, and hot surfaces.

    • Qualifications :

  • Detail-oriented with strong knowledge of proper service steps and etiquette.
  • Excellent communication skills and a guest-first mindset.
  • Comfortable handling fresh seafood / shellfish and working in both the kitchen and dining / bar areas.
  • Ability to stay cool under pressure and adaptable to shifting responsibilities.

    Heres the Skinny :

  • Full-Time or Part-Time (full-availability : nights & weekends)
  • 2 Years Experience
  • Sommelier and / or Cicerone Certification a plus
  • Team Service Tip Pool Model (we share tips among all hourly employees!)
  • Start earning $24 - $30 per hour with tips and the opportunity to earn more!
  • Paid Sick Time
  • Tips and / or Responsible Alcohol Service Certification (well provide training!)
