Jaxon is looking for Electrical Engineering Interns to work out of our Colorado Springs lab.
Jaxon is a distinguished leader in Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) hardening and survivability. Jaxon evaluates and designs EMP systems and facilities and delivers quality technical services to our Department of Defense and Commercial customers.
Jaxon is seeking an electrical engineering intern to support research and development work at its headquarters in Colorado Springs, CO. This role will be responsible for working on a team to generate specifications, design, construct, and test solutions to hardware needs. The role will also include regular interfacing with SMEs, project management, electrical engineers, and software engineers, and the successful candidate will be an effective, considerate, and confident team player.
Salary: $17-21/hr.
Worktimes: The Jaxon internship program consists of a 3-month duration of 20 hours per week, with a potential for a follow-on offer during the school year (approximately 10-15 hours a week). Interns need to be able to travel domestically and internationally for work assignments on a case-by-case basis, scheduled around their school commitments.
Security Clearance: Interns will be submitted for a Department of Defense Secret security clearance as needed. This means you must be a US Citizen. Obtaining a security clearance is a condition of employment.
Primary Duties
- Works under the supervision of lead engineers on a large variety of projects
- Contributes to Research and Development projects through all stages of the project execution
- Performs duties in both laboratory and field settings
- Operates electronic equipment to include industrial measuring and controlling equipment, RF test sets and Pulse Power systems
Requirements
- Currently enrolled undergraduate student in the field of study of Electrical Engineering, 2 year of completed college course work
- Ability to follow directions and work independently and as a team member
- Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously
- Possess a valid driver's license
