About This Position:
As a Purchasing Agent at Porta-King Building Systems, you will be responsible for the procurement of materials and services necessary for our operations. Your primary focus will be to ensure that the required materials are sourced at the best possible price, quality, and delivery time. You will collaborate with various departments, including sales, engineering, and production, to ensure smooth operations and timely production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source and purchase materials, equipment, and services needed for manufacturing operations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and payment schedules to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
- Review and process purchase orders in alignment with production schedules and inventory levels.
- Work closely with the Product Manager and VP of Sales to manage the procurement process from start to finish.
- Monitor inventory levels and place reorders as needed to prevent stockouts and production delays.
- Ensure that purchased materials meet quality standards and specifications.
- Maintain records of all purchasing transactions, contracts, and supplier performance.
- Collaborate with CAD engineers and production staff to ensure proper materials are available for custom product builds.
- Address any supplier issues or discrepancies regarding deliveries, invoices, or product quality.
- Assist in the development and implementation of purchasing policies and procedures.
