Quality Control Inspector
The Quality Control Inspector is to identify defects during and after the product is developed and manufactured and is actively involved in the daily requirements of AS9100 standards. The effort to perform acceptance inspections of sheet metal parts, utilizing industry standard tools and equipment so that the customer requirements are assured.
Essential Functions:
- Perform acceptance inspections of sheet metal parts, including AS9102 first article inspections per blueprint, sketch, or engineering order.
- Perform receiving inspection of material, outside processes, and customer items, subject to a careful QA review.
- Perform in-process inspection of manufactured parts, understanding shop travelers and shop practices.
- The applicant needs to be familiar with additional advanced inspection skills, such as using CMM equipment.
Knowledge and Critical Skills/Expertise:
- Good working knowledge, familiarity, and ability to use standard industry measuring tools, including but not limited to: calipers, micrometers, bevel protractors, countersink gauges, pin gauges, thread gauges, pi tape, radius gauges, etc.
- Computer literate, with good working knowledge of the PC and associated industry software, MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Understanding complex drawings (blueprints, Parts Lists, BOMs, etc.) and specifications is critical.
- Good working knowledge of shop math (trigonometry and algebra.)
Language/Communication Skills:
- Good written and verbal communication skills relative to the industry, including the ability to understand, read, and write English fluently.
Education and/or Experience:
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED), three or more years of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is needed.
- Applicants who are acquainted with AS9100D Standard, AS, AMS, FED-STD, and MIL-Specifications & Standards, could be considered for additional opportunities to engage..
Schedule:
- 10-hour shift
- Work week is Monday – Thursday, 5 am – 3:30 pm.
