The Restaurant Line Cook is a key team member in the preparation and presentation of food for resort guests. This role assists the Chef de Cuisine in overseeing kitchen operations, including menu planning, inventory control, and cleaning. Essential duties include:
- Supporting the Chef de Cuisine in daily menu planning, proper food storage, inventory control, and cleaning.
- Preparing high-quality food with speed and attention to presentation.
- Organizing the production area for daily, weekly, and special event service.
- Training and supervising immediate kitchen staff, including Cook 2s and Dishwashers.
- Performing daily and weekly planning to maintain production levels in accordance with business needs.
- Assisting the Chef de Cuisine and Sous Chef in efficient menu planning with diversity in product offerings, while maintaining food and labor costs.
- Prepping and organizing for daily business.
- Making important decisions related to the safety and sanitation of a food preparation area in line with ServSafe standards.
- Supporting the "Raised Jay" vision and values.
- Cleaning and wrapping the station or stations every night after service.
- Working in other Food & Beverage outlets as needed.
- Making important decisions regarding the safety of staff and guests, including the safety and cleanliness of the kitchen.
- Other duties as assigned.
