Paraprofessional- Tier 2

Reports to : Assigned teacher, building principal, and / or special services director
Supervises : n / a
Qualifications : Tier 2 (Special Education)
- Two years of study at an institution of higher education (48 semester
hours of college work), OR
the OGET
career technology centers or other state-approved training providers
maintaining current certification
Job Goal : Work with a small group of students or one-on-one with an individual student to assist the student with unique educational goals.
Employment Terms : 172 days subject to the approved school calendar
7 hours per day
FLSA Classification : Non-exempt
Evaluation : Annually by building principal

Occasional Requirements : Lift / move up to 25 pounds
Visual Requirements : Close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus
Hearing / Speaking Requirements : Adequate to exchange information
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

10. Attend IEP and other meetings and trainings as requested.
11. Alert assigned teacher of concerns related to the student.
12. Maintain confidentiality of student information.
13. Comply with all federal, state, and local laws and board policies and procedures.
14. Utilize professional behavior in all school-related interactions.
15. Perform all other tasks as requested by supervisor.
