What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Coordinator - Idaho position at Jayco?
Purpose:
Lead, guide, and manage the Jayco Idaho Facilities’ Environmental, Safety, and Health programs. Ensure all locations meet federal and state safety and health requirements while facilitating Jayco’s desire to be best in industry in regards to care for employees through safety performance.
Essential Functions:
- Ensure compliance with all Federal and State Safety/Environmental laws and regulations.
- Training management in regards to their role in safety and environmental compliance.
- Assess and address areas of risk ranging from employee safety to compliance.
- Work with operations and maintenance to ensure areas of risk are addressed appropriately.
- Actively engage and work with the clinic and work compensation claims management.
- Report health and safety awareness, issues, and statistics.
Required Experience /Knowledge:
- 4 or more years of related experience.
- Bachelor degree in related field recommended.
- Knowledge of OSHA and EPA rules and regulations.
Necessary Skills & Abilities:
- Effective communication, problem solving, organization skills.
- Ability to effectively work with various departments and levels of management to ensure compliance.
- Leadership skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (MS Word, Outlook are most critical).
- Thorough Knowledge of Excel and use of pivot tables used for managing, analyzing and presenting data.
Work Requirements:
- This position may require sitting, standing, working in front of a computer monitor in an office setting approximately 50% of the day and 50%, working in a non-climate controlled manufacturing environment.
- Requires ability to travel between field locations. Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; use hands to fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to frequently lift and move up to ten pounds.
- Ability to travel to all facilities.
- This position is a full-time position, which may require some flexibility in hours and days worked.
