About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Engineer to join the Field Department in our New York office. The ideal candidate would be within commutable distance to Long Island.
The Senior Engineer has a strong knowledge of design, the project process, and the interdisciplinary coordination needed with other engineering trades. The Senior Engineer is able to effectively collaborate with team members to ensure designs meet the standards of the Owner, JB&B, or another Design Engineer. The Senior Engineer is expected to positively contribute to the office environment, work closely with senior staff to complete tasks, and participate in office activities.

The Senior Engineer is able to effectively collaborate with team members to ensure designs meet the standards of the Owner, JB&B, or another Design Engineer. The Senior Engineer is expected to positively contribute to the office environment, work closely with senior staff to complete tasks, and participate in office activities.
Overall Responsibilities:
- Reads, understands, and interprets construction documents (e.g. design drawings, submittals, etc.)
- Develops equipment-level testing procedures based on understanding of project documentation.
- Assists in development of system-level testing documents.
- Directs equipment-level testing to confirm operation in accordance with project requirements.
- Reads, understands, and interprets industry standards, guidelines, and certification programs (e.g. LEED, WELL, ASHRAE, etc.).
- Implements project processes to meet industry certification programs.
- Performs review of equipment performance data (e.g. BMS trend data, field measurements, etc.) and identifies normal and abnormal operational characteristics.
- Conducts project site surveys and records technical information.
- Develops technical field reports based on results of site survey events.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline from an ABET accredited program.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience.
- Has a basic understanding of miscellaneous design software tools applicable to MEP design (such as Revit and AutoCAD).
- Has a fundamental understanding of Energy and Building Codes as they relate to Field.
- Has an advanced understanding of documentation formats and content for each deliverable phase (ie: preconstruction, construction, turnover, and close out).
- Has knowledge of how to troubleshoot various field-related issues
- Understands basic proposal/add service and scope language.
- Maintains affiliation with a major professional organization (BCA, AEE, ASHRAE, USGBC, etc.).
