Responsibilities: Assist Reception Manager with the coordination of activities of the front office, guest services and PBX while striving to continuously improve service, efficiency, accuracy and maintain high productivity, employee morale and positive guest relations to ensure high standards of service and maximum profit.
Duties:
1. Reports to work dressed in proper attire and on time following proper clock in/out procedure as outlined in the employee handbook.
2. Assists Guest Reception Manager in maximizing room revenues while maintaining current rooms inventory and control.
3. Assist in maintaining standards of excellence in quality and service as established in hotel S.O.P.'s.
4. Ensure positive guest relations through continuous contact with hotel guests and resolution of any problems in a timely manner.
5. Communicate effectively with sales and reservations to properly institute yield management procedures.
6. Administer appropriate accounting procedures relating to the front office.
7. Maintain key control procedures for all guest rooms.
8. Monitor correct use of guest safe deposit boxes.
9. Maximize communication within the front office, reservations, guest services, PBX and housekeeping.
10. Prepare forecasts and reports as needed (10 day forecast, etc.).
11. Perform duties of all front office positions as necessary.
12. Maintain front office operations in absence of reception manager.
13. Work with the reception manager and human resources director in interviewing, selection and maintenance of proper staffing levels.
14. Assist reception manager with on-going training activities and monitor performance of all front office personnel.
15. Document personnel related problems and communicate with the reception manager and in his/her absence, the director of human resources and general manager.
16. Assist the reception manager in reviewing, with front office personnel, their work performance as scheduled by hotel S.O.P.'s.
17. Attend regular meetings with front office personnel to maintain effective communications of all pertinent information.
18. Adhere to all fire, safety, & security procedures according to management company/hotel policy.
19. Comply with all hotel policies and standard operating procedures of the hotel and its management company.
20. Assist the Reception Manager in preparation for and execution of regularly scheduled Front Office department meetings.
21. Assures department compliance and assistance with hotel recycling program.
22. Completes other duties as assigned by the Reception Manager.
23. Maintains Front Office operations, problem solving, and follow-up during the shifts, and in the absence of the Reception Manager.

Physical Demands: Lifting 30 pounds maximum with frequent bending, lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 15 pounds. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree.
