Warehouse Forklift Operator

Job Overview
At JB Mill, we are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team at our dry kiln facility . We produce various species and types of lumber to provide customers with high grade material . The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts and heavy equipment to facilitate the movement of materials and products within our facility. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and teamwork to ensure that operations run smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts, including pallet jacks, to transport materials throughout the warehouse.
• Load and unload trucks, ensuring that products are handled safely and efficiently.
• Perform order picking tasks, accurately selecting items for shipment while adhering to safety protocols.
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on forklifts and other heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Assist in building pallets and organizing inventory in designated storage areas.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to minimize risks associated with heavy lifting and equipment operation.
• Handle lumber by hand and with machinery
• Stacking lumber and learning species of lumber for shipment

Skills

• Proven experience in forklift operation
• Strong mechanical knowledge to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance on equipment.
• Ability to handle heavy lifting tasks safely and efficiently.
• Excellent attention to detail, particularly in order picking processes.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
• A commitment to adhering to safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Pay is based on experience.
