What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd Shift Machine Operator position at JBC Technologies?
Actively hiring for 2nd Shift! 10 hour shifts Monday-Thursday
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complete daily logs.
- Sets-up and operate any shop machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines
- Reads and interprets blueprints, drawings, Job Orders, routers and diagrams to select dies, position, and secure machinery
- Adheres to operating procedures/instructions
- Adjusts machine settings to complete tasks per specification to run job orders accurately and maximize productivity
- Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisors
- Communicate process and quality improvements via CPAR system
- Maintain a clean and safe work station; follow shop 5S system
- Embrace a team attitude that aligns with JBC’s Core Values
- Accurately record labor and material usage in ERP system
- Follow all JBC policies and procedures
- Complete daily logs.
- Requires forklift operation, pallet jacks, shrink wrapping, and labeling.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by management
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent
- 0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing/shipping environment
- Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, expectations, and procedures in manufacturing
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Basic reading, writing and math skills required.
- Driver’s License & box truck experience a plus - No CDL required.
- Ability to lift 60 pounds.
- Warehouse experience preferred.
- Must be able to pass drug screening and background check.
Physical Demands:
- Light to moderate physical effort required on a constant basis
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility for an entire shift
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Protective equipment not required but available for nuisance dust
- Protective equipment, such as gloves, required for specific tasks
Work Environment:
- Work performed in a plant/production environment
- Contains any number of elements including but not limited to fiberglass/insulation material, dust, fumes, and noise.
- Must be able to work as part of a team or independently with limited supervision
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
