- Job Summary
- The primary responsibility of this position is to perform all pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical procedures in a prompt, accurate and reliable manner according to established hospital and laboratory policies and procedures; including moderate and high complexity laboratory testing commensurate with education, training and experience. Exhibits the F.I.R.S.T. values (Friendliness, Innovation, Respect, Service, and Trust).
- Working Conditions, Hazards and Physical Effort
Works standard work week with overtime as necessary to meet workload and staffing requirements; rotating weekends and holidays. Workload and staffing may require alteration in regularly scheduled shift. Moderate physical exertion with moderate to marked stress levels. Moderate noise level due to centrifuges and other instrumentation. Light to moderate moving of supplies. Works with toxic, caustic, and flammable chemicals and reagents. The task of this job involves exposure to blood, body fluids and tissues. Must be able to move or position 25 lbs. independently.
- Minimum Qualifications or Equivalents
- Education: Associate's Degree of Science (MLT) (ASCP), biology, chemistry, or related science. Scientific analytical method, mathematical, computer, reasoning and language skills at the college level (2 years).
- Experience: None.
- EQUIPMENT USED/SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: Automated and non-automated laboratory instrumentation and tools.
- Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registration
- ASCP registration as MLT or equivalent.
- Pay range based on years of experience
- $20.70 - $31.05
