Key Responsibilities:
- Maintaining and following the company quality system requirements; including but not limited to understanding of change control, validation, documentation practices, and design control requirements.
- Collaborating, maintaining cross-functional partnerships and coordinating activities as necessary with groups that include but are not limited to supplier quality, purchasing, manufacturing engineering, quality compliance, regulatory, and system engineering.
- Managing and leading multiple projects simultaneously.
- Evaluating and communicating business (timing, cost) impact of design changes.
- Leading and executing product design change projects from evaluation through validation.
- Developing project schedules, attending meetings, coordinating resources and preparing reports as required, ensuring effective communication of ideas, information, and issues to appropriate stakeholders.
- Providing technical assistance and leadership in the planning and implementation of complex design change projects to develop and qualify new materials, molds, etc.
- Assisting in the completion of engineering tasks or projects lead by more experienced engineers.
- Performing other job-related duties assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working in the medical industry or other regulated industry preferred.
- Proficient in engineering tools and methodologies (e.g., CAD software, statistical analysis).
- Thorough knowledge of statistical techniques, DMAIC/six-sigma certification preferred.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards and quality systems (e.g., GMP, FDA, ISO 13485).
- Thorough knowledge of equipment and tools in laboratory testing and inspection systems.
- Thorough understanding of medical device processes and effect on product performance preferred.
