Our client is a Visitor & Convention Bureau that strengthens the region’s economy by attracting and encouraging visitors and residents to experience the region by promoting their unique natural environment, vibrant cultural communities, and rich heritage resources.
We're looking for an experienced Executive Director who will manage the daily operations of the organization related to tourism, tourism marketing, sports tourism, destination marketing, stewardship and recreation. This person will work closely with the Board of Directors to develop and oversee marketing and promotional strategies to increase visitor traffic, length of stay, and spending of visitors from out of the area. Additionally, this role will be responsible for identifying partnerships to grow income and increase tourism.
Qualifications / Required Experience :
- 3 years management experience in marketing, hospitality and tourism, public relations, economic development or closely related field
- Ability to collaborate effectively with members of the media, the public, staff, industry partners, partner agencies, business leaders, and elected / appointed officials from diverse cultural, social, economic, and educational backgrounds
- Proven experience in securing funding for an organization through grants, donations, and other sources. Also, managing an organization's budget, ensuring that funds are allocated appropriately and that financial goals are met.
- Past experience in hiring, supervising, and evaluating staff members, as well as fostering a positive work environment and promoting professional development opportunities.
