Primary Duties Include:
- Develop algorithms for radar signal processing techniques such as Kalman filtering, probabilistic and statistical modeling, and measurement processing from pulsed-doppler waveforms.
- Design algorithms that process signal returns into discriminated targets and track targets through mission timeline.
- Define system performance requirements and ensure interface definition supports various functional components of the seeker’s and missile’s architecture.
- Conduct analysis to optimize total system-of-systems performance or system architecture as applied to algorithmic functionality pertaining to the acquisition and tracking of targets.
- Analyze seeker simulation data to identify areas for improvement and guide recommendations for system robustness in the presence of challenging operational environments.
- Analyze algorithm performance with a focus on survivability, vulnerability, and susceptibility to identify necessary modifications to ensure mission success.
- Review and modify the application of general digital signal processing techniques to the processing of reradiated signal content to ensure accurate signal characteristic identification.
- Mentor early-career engineers and inexperienced DSP/algorithm engineers through regular knowledge transfer.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
- 5 years of experience in Digital Signal Processing or Digital Communications algorithms and techniques (equalization, turbo/viterbi coding/decoding, channel estimation, filter design, resampling theory, etc.).
- 5 years of experience with RADAR systems analysis or design.
- Experience with MATLAB for data analysis or modeling and simulation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in digital signal processing theory, including the application of fundamental digital signal processing techniques.
- Experience in pulse Doppler radar system architectures and design/test practices.
- Experience working with operating radar systems and Electronic Warfare designs and testing.
- Knowledge of linear signal theory, Fourier transforms, and communication theory.
- RF, electrical transmission, signal processing and modeling in MATLAB.
- System test experience including test design, implementation, and execution for breadboard and brassboard hardware.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, independent research and development (IRAD) environment.
- Familiarity with multiple programming languages and development environments (C , ADA, Python, etc.) in an Agile environment.
- Experience in formal technical writing (i.e. Whitepapers, Tech-Notes, Technical Journals, and Research Reports).
- Experience in Technology Readiness Level (TRL) maturation of novel technologies and concepts.
