IT Director

Purpose and Scope/General Summary: We are looking for an IT Director for JBS that reports onsite to the corporate office in Greeley, Colorado.

The IT Director position involves a wide range of responsibilities, including delivering assigned IT projects on time, working with the business to improve efficiencies, and leading initiatives to analyze complex business problems to be solved with automated systems. The role also includes advising business groups by providing technical and strategic direction, ensuring policies and procedures align with corporate vision, and leading a team of managers.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering assigned IT projects on time.
  • Working as a team with the business to help them improve their efficiencies.
  • Improve efficiencies within the team.
  • Bring expertise or identifies subject matter experts in support of multi-functional efforts to identify, interpret and produce recommendations based on company system needs
  • Advise business groups by providing technical and strategic direction to identify and address business issues and opportunities.
  • Ensures that policies and procedures align with corporate vision
  • Leads a team of managers and help them to develop
  • Work with the business on the future roadmap for their controls, policies and procedures
  • Troubleshoot issues with business personnel
  • Provide support for regular production issues (including on-call)
  • Overseeing all technology operations and evaluating them according to established goals
  • Develop and implement IT governance frameworks aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and industry standards.
  • Ensure adherence to IT compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOX, PII) through regular assessments and audits.
  • Facilitate training and awareness programs on compliance and security practices for all employees.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations impacting the organization.
  • Develop, review, and maintain IT compliance policies and procedures governing data protection, security, and risk management.
  • Conduct assessments to identify compliance risks related to IT operations and data handling.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified compliance risks.
  • Plan and conduct internal audits to evaluate compliance with established policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Document findings and provide recommendations for remediation to senior management.
  • Collaborate with IT Security and Cyber Defense teams to define compliance-related incident response procedures.
  • Manage reporting obligations related to data breaches or compliance incidents, ensuring timely notifications to authorities.
  • Evaluate third-party vendors for compliance with applicable regulations and organizational standards.
  • Ensure vendor contracts include compliance requirements and monitoring provisions.
  • Continuously monitor compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Work closely with internal and external auditors for SOX requirements.
  • Monitor IT systems for security breaches and respond to incidents promptly.
  • Work closely with other departments to understand and mitigate IT risks.
  • Lead the development and execution of IT security strategies to protect organizational assets and data.
  • Develop security protocols specific to AI applications, addressing potential vulnerabilities and compliance requirements.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify, evaluate, and prioritize security risks to organizational assets.
  • Implement and maintain processes for identifying, classifying, and mitigating vulnerabilities in systems and applications.
  • Manage user identities, roles, and access permissions to ensure only authorized personnel can access sensitive data.
  • Monitor systems to detect security incidents in real-time.
  • Maintain an incident response plan to effectively manage and mitigate security breaches.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure security is integrated into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Conduct regular security assessments, such as penetration testing and code reviews, to identify weaknesses.
  • Develop and implement security awareness training for all employees to promote a culture of security.
  • Evaluate the security posture of third-party vendors and ensure compliance with security standards.
  • Provide updates and reports to stakeholders on security posture, incidents, and compliance status.
  • Stay updated on emerging security threats and best practices.
  • Work closely with other departments (e.g., Legal, HR, IT Security) to ensure a unified approach to security.
  • Ensure effective software management throughout the software lifecycle, including compliance with licensing agreements.
  • Ensure necessary software applications are installed, configured, and updated on user devices.
  • Negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms and conditions for IT services and solutions.
  • Manage HelpDesk and Desktop Support teams to deliver exceptional service and support to all users.
  • Manage incidents and service requests to minimize downtime and impact on business operations.
  • Work closely with other IT teams (e.g., Security, Network, Development) to ensure cohesive support and operations.
  • Participate in IT projects that impact helpdesk and desktop environments, ensuring alignment with operational capabilities.
  • Lead IT project managers, ensuring alignment with business strategy and timely delivery of objectives.
  • Utilize project management methodologies to track progress, manage budgets, and allocate resources effectively.
  • Ensure IT functional and business teams alignment in project management.
  • Track project performance against goals, using metrics and KPIs to identify progress and issues.
  • Implement quality management processes to ensure deliveries meet the required standards and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Conduct reviews and audits to assess project quality and compliance with established criteria.
  • Promote best practices in project management and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Establish policies and procedures to govern the change management process.
  • Ensure alignment with business objectives and IT strategy.
  • Position is based out of Greeley, CO office with support to other locations in US (including travel)
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Preferred 4 years’ degree or equivalent industry experience
  • 8-10 years of IT experience required
  • Preferred experience with SOX and Compliance processes
  • Some knowledge and experience with NIST 2.0
  • Basic knowledge of IT processes, SDLC, and project management methodology
  • Technical aptitude with successful project management experience preferred
  • Ability to learn in a hands-on environment
  • Basic understanding of company operations
  • Prior experience with meat/CPG business preferred
  • Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • As a salaried position with the company, you may be required to travel at some point to other facilities, to attend Company events, or as a representative of the Company in other situations. Unless otherwise specified in this posting, the amount of travel may vary and the most qualified candidate must be willing and able to travel as business needs dictate.

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

  • Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
  • Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
  • 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
  • Base salary range of $120,000-$145,000;
  • Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program; and
