Essential Job Functions
- Work with Operations team to ensure all programs are being followed
- Coordinate and supervise pre-operation sanitation, examining and verifying the cleanliness and sanitation of equipment and facilities daily
- Act as a liaison between the company and the USDA to ensure that the company maintains operations within regulatory guidelines
- Train and monitor employees for adherence to company SOPs, SSOPs and GMPs
- Maintain acceptable yield levels on all products both carcasses
- Perform daily safety walks and correct any non-compliance issues
- Keep track of QA Technicians hours, vacations, and time off
- Supervise a team of QA Technicians and foster the continuous growth and development of all QA Technicians by directing, motivating and monitoring all activities
- Contributes to the ongoing development of JBS policies and procedures
- Coordinate the efforts of other facility departments to optimize the company performance by meeting the company’s guidelines and management expectations
- Perform other related duties as directed that correspond to the overall function of this position
- Minimum 1-2 years Meat/Food Industry experience
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent, preferred but not required
- Previous supervisory/leadership experience
- Proven written and verbal communication skills, problem solving and leadership qualities.
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs and Food Safety
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships and work collaboratively with employees at all levels of the organization
- Must be able to multitask
- Knowledge of Net/Tare weights and micro sampling
- Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed
- Must understand product AQL and SSOP and record reviewing
- Willingness to travel at least 25% of the time
