Producer Relations / Contracting Specialist
We are looking for a Producer Relations / Contracting Specialists for JBS that strengthens JBS relationships with new and existing producers. These roles will be based out of Plainwell, MI.
Responsibilities :
- Strengthen JBS relationships with new and existing producers
- Grow JBS producer population
- Develop or help develop plant specific procurement strategy
- Expanding the number of cattle contracted to JBS plants
- Responsible for some cattle procurement and associated activities
- Responsible for cattle contracting from cattle feeders
- Responsible for cattle procurement and associated activities within a certain region based on plant locations
- Work with independent contractors to satisfy cattle needs for the company
- Work with cattle feeders to monitor cattle numbers in their respective area
- Bidding procedures and prices
- Responsible for 3 or 4 state area for contracting cattle
- Communicate estimate grades, estimate yields, and cost to next day kill for Head Buyer or Cattle Procurement
- Travel to farms to purchase and evaluate cattle
- Frequent communication with contracting manager, head cattle buyer, coworkers, accounting department, and other plant personnel regarding purchasing, quality, and quality of live cattle
- Frequent communication with farmers and truckers regarding purchase, quality, quantity and delivery of live cattle
- Other duties as assigned
