Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting:
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP or other applicable standards.
- Analyze financial reports to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Prepare internal financial reports for senior management and stakeholders.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the accounting team, providing guidance and professional development.
- Allocate work to accounting staff and ensure deadlines are met.
- Conduct performance evaluations and identify areas for team growth.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and financial reporting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
- Coordinate and manage the external audit process, liaising with auditors to ensure timely completion and resolution of any audit issues.
- Monitor and enforce internal controls to minimize financial risk.
- Collaborate with other departments to develop annual budgets and forecasts.
- Provide variance analysis and recommendations for improving financial performance.
- Identify opportunities for improving accounting processes and systems to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Implement new accounting technologies or tools to streamline workflows.
- Oversee tax reporting and filing to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Work with external tax consultants to manage tax filings and resolve any tax-related issues.
- Provide financial analysis for decision-making purposes, including cash flow analysis, profitability assessments, and cost savings initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's preferred).
- CPA or CMA certification (preferred).
- Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Hybrid based role
- Occasional overtime may be required during peak periods (e.g., month-end close, year-end reporting, audit season).
