CNC Lathe Operator
Job Responsibilities:
Effectively and efficiently produces machined parts by operating a CNC lathe machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.
Job Duties:
- Operate CNC lathes using Fanuc controls; offsets, compensation, calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
- Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces.
- Maintains specifications by taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
- Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Min. 2-3 years previous work experience for CNC operations including set-up
- Ability to read and interpret design blueprints.
- Ability to work independently and stick to a deadline
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift heavy objects
- Ability to work after-hours when required
- Ability to check quality of own work
- Ability to read and edit G-code programs and use Fanuc controls a plus
- Maintain a clean work environment
