Director for People with Disabilities

Principal Responsibilities:

Reporting Structure

• The Director of Programs for People with Disabilities will be one of the leaders within the agency's departments providing Human Services. This role will report to the Executive Director.
  
  

Job Responsibilities

• To lead and be a representee of the HES`s portfolio of both contracted and fee for service programs for children and adults with developmental disabilities including but not limited to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Programs include but are not limited to an array of afterschool, adaptive sports, aquatics, camp, adult programming and family support service needs of people with disabilities, their families and caregivers. The Program Director is responsible for day to day program oversight, service expansion, staff development and outreach. Additionally, the Program Director will ensure programs meet both regulatory and quality standard criteria that support service outcome success.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications:

Necessary Skills

• Master's Degree in Social Work, Special Education or Human Services related field preferred
• 5 Years of experience in work with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities including but not limited to Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
• Familiarity with conducting intakes and needs assessments
• Strong ability to provide an individualized approach to conflict resolution and family resource allocation
• Understanding of NYS OPWDD policies and procedures
• Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise support service teams consisting of direct support professionals, program administrators and interns
• Exceptional organizational, interpersonal and written communication skills ? Strong ability to be innovative, create support tools and oversight systems
• Demonstrates a capacity to promote a robust community of quality care, respect and progress.
  
  

Salary:

$65,000 - $75,000
