The Jewish Community Center's Early Childhood Center seeks a Curriculum and Professional Development Coordinator to provide support for consistent implementation of the program's curriculum across all age groups.
## Responsibilities
- Conduct regular classroom observations and provide constructive feedback on implementation of the HighScope approach.
- Utilize the HighScope Program Quality Assessment and other HighScope resources to create improvement plans in collaboration with classroom teams.
- Meet with teaching staff to create individual professional development plans.
- Conduct staff trainings for small groups and large groups of teachers.
- Research professional development opportunities available to center staff and connect individual teachers with trainings that will move them forward on their professional development plans.
- Serve as part of the Early Childhood Center leadership team, working closely with it's administrators.
- Assist with NAEYC Accreditation and Michigan Great Start to Quality documentation.
- Sub in classrooms periodically
## Qualifications
- Proven experience in observation/feedback, mentorship, and coaching.
- Extensive experience using HighScope and other early childhood program assessment instruments.
- Seasoned early childhood educator with 8 years of experience using the HighScope curriculum model.
- Ability to write clearly and effectively for educational purposes
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or equivalent.
