Principal Responsibilities:
JCC Bernie Camp Specialist
Bernie Camp is a day camp for school-aged children and is located at the Jewish Community Center. Specialists teach art, music, and physical education Monday through Thursday, and have the option to participate in our Friday camp-wide activities. Each specialist has freedom to create their curriculum and teach in the style of their choice.
The Bernie Camp staff is a friendly, supportive, and professional team. We are guided by Jewish values and open to everyone. Staff are welcome to bring their full selves to camp. We celebrate the diversity of our staff, volunteers, families, and campers.
Mandatory Staff Orientation May 27-June 6
Camp Dates June 9-August 15

- Reliable, punctual and displays attention to detail
- Loves working with children and responding to their emergent needs
- Attention to safety protocols and rules
- Ability to work in a team
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Able to pass a background check
- Experience working with youth, ages 5-12
- Personal or professional experience in the area you are teaching (music, PE, or art)
- For the art specialist - experience working with a kiln
- For the music specialist - ability to play a musical instrument
- Positive role model for children
- Community-minded work environment
- Competitive hourly rate starting at $15/hour
- JCC Membership
- First Aid/CPR Certification provided if work agreement is completed
