Under the supervision of the Aquatics Director and Assistant Aquatics Director, the private swimming instructor is responsible for lesson planning to facilitate a positive and growth driven learning environment. The primary function of the instructor will be to maintain a safe and organized instructional environment for class participants.

This is a part-time, in-person role, with occasional evenings and holidays throughout the year. Must be available on Sunday.

Minimum Qualifications:
Key Responsibilities, in coordination and consultation with the Director/Asst. Director , include:
- Embody an outgoing and enthusiastic personality at all times.
- Strong customer service while enforcing all policies and procedures
- Reports to work in uniform a minimum of ten minutes prior to the assigned shift
- Maintain safe and orderly instructional environment for all participants
- Responsible for the cleanliness of the pool area and instructional equipment
- Teaching age and skill appropriate swimming techniques utilizing hydrodynamic principles
- Assessing and reporting swim level of participants
- Ensuring proper records are maintained in regards to private swim clients
- Age 16 or older
- Currently certified Lifeguarding/CPR/AED/First Aid (preferred)
- Currently certified Water Safety Instructor (required)
- Being familiar with the facility Emergency Action Plan
- Participating in continuing education activities through both internal and external sessions to promote an on-going development of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for instructors.
- Physical effort required for daily duties includes lifting heavy weights, squatting, bending, reaching, spotting, and prolonged standing/walking.
- Must be able to lift and/or move 30 pounds
