Principal Responsibilities :
The BB Day Camp Portland - Site Director will assist the Day Camp Director in developing, implementing, and operating the BB Day Camp Portland program. This includes (but is not limited to) camper recruitment, program development, hiring and supervising of staff, building a vibrant Jewish community for campers and staff, program budget development and management, and planning for future improvement and growth. The Site Director will plan for day-to-day functions as well as big-picture ideas for Day Camp.

Regular work hours and location :
This is a part-time, hybrid / remote position during the school year, leading up to a Summer-time position. During the school year, regular work hours will be agreed upon with the Day Camps Director. Some days / hours at the Camp Office, Overnight Camp, or other Day Camp locations with regular work hours, may be agreed upon with the supervisor.

Essential functions :
- Assist in the implementation of a vibrant day camp program and year-round youth and family engagement activities that fulfill BB Camp's mission as a strong Jewish identity-building and community-building experience for campers, families, and staff.
- Assist in the implementation of a strategy for recruiting new campers and retaining current campers with specific goals and measurable outcomes that align with BB Camp's mission, vision, and strategic plan to be revisited annually.
- Assist in the implementation of a strategy for recruiting, hiring, training, and managing all summer day camp and engagement programming staff.
- Ensure that Jewish values and culture are an integral and visible part of the daily life of camp and engagement programs; oversee the implementation of innovative and traditional programs and activities to meet the needs of all age groups.
- Responsible for effectively communicating on all issues regarding the program and the care and well-being of the campers and CITs in Camp's care.
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of a safety program, crisis management, and emergency procedures specific to the BB Day Camp and program locations and participation.
- Supervise and give feedback to Assistant Director of Programs, Assistant Director of Community Care, and CIT Coordinator.
