Principal Responsibilities:
Title: Dishwasher
Reports to: Early Childhood Education Director and Kitchen Manager
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM (additional hours may be available in other roles)
Status: Part-time hourly, non-exempt
Exciting opportunity to join our team as a part-time Dishwasher at the Binghamton JCC! The Dishwasher plays a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen and cafeteria environment. We are seeking a dependable, hardworking individual who can support our Early Childhood Kitchen Team and assist our classrooms as needed to help keep our program running smoothly.
Minimum Qualifications:
Position Requirements:
- Wash and sanitize pots, pans, dishes, and kitchen utensils throughout the day
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dishwashing and prep areas
- Care for our Early Childhood cafeteria, including cleaning tables, sweeping floors, and assisting with meal transitions
- Assist with basic kitchen needs such as restocking, wiping surfaces, and light prep
- Adhere to Kosher kitchen regulations and food safety protocols
- Help transport dish bins and supplies between floors as needed
- Provide classroom support as needed during kitchen downtimes
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior dishwashing or kitchen experience a plus
- Ability to lift and carry buckets or bins filled with dishes or food
- Ability to stand and move throughout the building for the majority of the shift
- Attention to cleanliness, safety, and time management
- Patience, flexibility, and a team mindset
$15.50/hour for a 15-hour work week, with potential for additional hours in other portions of the early childhood and youth departments.

Since its inception in 1927, the Jewish Community Center (JCC) of Binghamton, NY has grown to become an essential part of the Broome County community. As a full-service, non-profit organization, the JCC provides educational, cultural, recreational, and physical fitness programs to enhance the quality of life for all ages, from infants to senior citizens. The JCC's facility houses a natatorium with a 2250 sq. ft. pool, gymnasium, small fitness center, men's and women's health clubs, steam, sauna, a fitness loft with spin bikes and Pilates reformers, stage, auditorium, and more. Over 200 children are served daily at our award-winning Early Childhood Center. Our year-round educational childcare includes UPK, after-school program, summer camp, and youth sports offerings.
The 8-acre land also features outdoor tennis/pickleball and basketball courts, pavilion, nature preserve, soccer field, and three age-appropriate playground facilities.
