Principal Responsibilities:
The Stamford JCC Inclusion Department is currently recruiting senior high school and college students for summer job employment in our Hand in Hand program. Hand in Hand, provides children grades Pre-K - 8 the opportunity to participate in a summer camp environment in a supportive setting. We work with children of all abilities to reach their fullest potential, both developmentally and interpersonally. Hand in Hand counselors shadow 2 campers with disabilities in the summer and help them with camp activities and building relationships. We are looking for students who have had experience working or volunteering with children who have disabilities and who genuinely enjoy working with diverse children in a recreational setting.
Duties of Position:
- All staff members are needed from 8:15 am-4:00 pm from June 23th - August 1, 2025.
- Attend staff training prior to camp starting (June 16th-20th ( no training on June 19th).
- Counselors would help reinforce the skills and help children integrate into the camp community successfully throughout the day.
- Counselors must communicate each day to the parents and the Hand in Hand Director, a review of what each camper has done for the day.
***Hand in Hand counselors must be 18 years or older and have at least 1 year of experience working with children with disabilities.
