What are the responsibilities and job description for the Camp Counselor position at JCC Rockland?
Being a camp counselor can be one of the most rewarding jobs you can have in your young life. What’s better than playing games, getting crafty, and making friends outside in the sunshine?! JCC Rockland is seeking motivated individuals to join our camp counselor team. We provide unique and engaging summer experiences for campers ages 18 months through entering 8th grade.
As a camp counselor, you have an important role supervising a group of campers and working closely with your support staff. You will be a “responsible camper,” having fun while leading by example and providing a safe and inclusive group environment.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Understands camp culture and willing to be “All In” for every activity throughout the day
- Is a strong leader and self-starter
- Has previous experience working at camp and/or with children 18 months—12 years old
- Has a positive, personable outlook, energetic, hardworking, effective in high pressure situations, and attention to detail
- Must enjoy working in a team environment
Hours:
Monday—Friday- 8:30am—4:30pm
Orientation dates in the two weeks prior to camp
Job Type: Contract
Pay: From $250.00 per week
