Community Ambassador (Per Diem)

The Community Ambassador will play an essential role in the Community Partnership Program. The partnership is a community-based coalition connecting people and resources within the community, including – Erasmus, East Flatbush-Farragut, and Rugby-Remsen Village. The Community Ambassador will help establish and foster relationships within the community and assist with community workshops and events. Also, aim to create new connections and draw the community closer together for a shared vision of families to be healthy, safe, and success in as a whole. 

Essential Generic Job Functions:

Duties include those listed below, and additional responsibility as assigned by the Program Director and Community Organizer.

• Coordinate and assist in the planning of community events, workshops, or other activities.

• Support and engage community members to participate and develop stronger connections within the community.

• Attend community meeting and events

• Exercise the role of leadership in the strategic planning committee and governance team.

• Serve as the liaison between Community Partnership Program, community partners, families, and residents.

• Increase engagement and support among families, friends, neighbors, schools, local organizations, and institution.

• Participate in training, which will strengthen skills and increase knowledge of resources to better support and engage the community.

• Support the overall efforts of the Program Director, Community Organizer, governance team, and partnerships, including all other tasks as assigned.  

Knowledge, Education and Skills Required:

• High School Diploma/Equivalency required
• Experience facilitating a group (i.e., coaching a team and leading workshops).
• Able to commit an average of 10 hours per week to office hours, off-site marketing and promotional activities, and regular resident interaction.
• Ability to work with people of different culture and background
• Ability to coordinate with a wide range of staff and be a team player
• Some evening and weekends/ability to work occasional, flexible hours 

Hourly Rate: $18.00 per hour
