Position Summary:
The Employee Relations & Engagement Manager will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to support a positive and productive employee community by partnering with managers on performance management practices, participating in the creation, implementation and sustainability of organizational employee satisfaction initiatives and conducting management training. The Manager will offer guidance and best practices to address common workplace issues and conflict resolution through training and structured development activities. This Manager will be data driven, using data to improve the employee experience and support continuous improvement to achieve a healthy workplace culture.
Responsibilities:
Employee Engagement:
- Design and execute feedback mechanisms and pulse checks, including but not limited to stay and exit interviews to monitor engagement levels and morale across the organization; utilize feedback to partner with leadership to develop and implement strategies to improve employee engagement and retention
- Develop KPIs to track and analyze the effectiveness of employee engagement and development initiatives.
- Prepare regular reports on employee relations trends and engagement metrics, including retention and employee satisfaction
- Work with program leadership to identify and address barriers to employee engagement and provide guidance and training on best practices
- Advise managers on handling employee relations issues, specifically on conflict resolution.
- Organize a wellness committee to create and promote programs that support employee well-being and work-life balance.
- Participate in the development of employee recognition programs, team-building activities, and events that encourage a positive work culture.
Performance Management & Training:
- Responsible for ensuring all staff are trained on the performance management system and process.
- Support performance management process by advising on constructive feedback, coaching, goal development and fostering a growth-oriented mindset within their teams.
- Collaborate with Training Department and other Subject Matter Experts, to conduct quarterly Management Trainings on topics including but not limited to situational management, effective communication and constructive feedback, competency-based hiring practices, etc., ensuring that all current and newly promoted managers attend annually; utilize external resources as needed
- Help identify high-potential/performing employees and work with program leads to create development plans to ensure readiness for future roles and retention with the agency
New Hire Orientation & Onboarding:
- Collaborate with HR Director to enhance Pre-Boarding and New Hire Orientation activities
- Participate in development of standardized onboarding structure for new hires
- Collect feedback from new hires throughout their first year of service to continuously improve the onboarding experience.
- Develop KPI metrics to monitor effectiveness of onboarding activities and retention rates throughout the process
- Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in onboarding and employee engagement to bring fresh ideas and approaches to the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree along with at least five (5) years of relevant Human Resources experience
- Demonstrate strong communication skills - presentation, facilitation and coaching
- Demonstrated experience in the areas of employee engagement, training, and employee relations
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to access training needs and adapt to different learning styles
- Experience in designing and deploying employee surveys and/or facilitation of company-wide post survey action planning
- Ability to influence and transform employee perceptions, attitudes, behaviors and engagement
- Proficiency in MS Office, HR Information Systems and Learning Management Systems (LMS); previous experience with ADP and Relias is a Plus
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership with focus on continuous improvement
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
