Position Summary:
JCCA’s Preventive Services division is seeking a Therapist in the Family Treatment and Rehabilitation (FTR) Program. FTR is a program that provides supportive services for families with a caregiver or child with substance abuse or mental health issues. The social worker will provide individual, group and family treatment for clients/families in compliance with regulations of NYS Department of Social Services and NYC Administration for Children’s Services.
JCCA’s Preventive Services stabilize and strengthen families in crisis. Therapists support families in resolving immediate problems and keeping children safely at home. Programs offer assessment, crisis intervention, and treatment in a variety of models to best assist families at critical points. Our professional staff work with families who may be struggling with family conflict, substance abuse, domestic violence, mental illness, behavior problems, truancy, parental stress and children who are at risk of abuse and neglect. We use a family approach to empower and strengthen families to prevent out-of-home placement and to reunite families after such placements.
Essential Job Functions:
- Conduct office, home and field visits to assess clients for safety concerns, establish treatment goals and to meet case objectives per their needs and in compliance with regulations of NYS Department of Social Services and NYC Administration for Children’s Services.
- Conduct clinical assessments of referred families according to established program procedure.
- Maintain records of all client/family/collateral contacts according to the regulations of NYS Department of Social Services and NYC Administration for Children’s Services.
- Maintain correspondence for clients as required by the Family Assessment Service Plan (FASP).
- Provide all case management services called for in Family Assessment Service Plan (FASP).
- Attend interdisciplinary clinical case conferences and staff meetings according to program procedures.
- Attend inter-agency meetings (including client-specific meetings at schools, hospitals, ACS, etc.).
- Participate in planning and implementation of client group activities, etc.
- Represent Preventive Services at community functions.

Qualifications:
- Master’s in Social Work (MSW), Mental Health Counseling (MHC) or Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) from an accredited school
- Knowledge of individual, family and group therapeutic modalities
- Knowledge of needs of, and identification of, abused and neglected children
- Knowledge of child development and individual and family functioning.
- Demonstrated ability to work with hard to reach or resistant individuals and families
- Excellent writing skills to fulfill state and city regulations for documentation
- Must demonstrate the ability to collaborate with client and teams that are culturally and professionally diverse
- Fluency in Spanish and/or Creole French an asset
Salary Range: $56K-$63K
Salary : $56,000 - $63,000
