This Case Manager position is to render direct service to refugees, immigrants and their families in pre and post migration, citizenship, and other immigration related areas. Represents HIAS in various community events and activities for the purpose of outreach and education. This position is only through the duration of grant funding from the Resurrection Project, and will require attendance at the workshops as hosted by the funder.
This position is grant funded and will continue for as long as the funding is available.

RESPONSIBILITIES :
Assists clients with a range of immigration legal services applications, including,but not limited to, employment authorization, temporary protected status, parolein place, permanent residency, and othersMeets with clients to provide information regarding U.S. Immigration laws andprocedures.Prepares U.S. governmental and HIAS forms, applications and supportingdocuments to agency standards. Prepares, maintains and safeguardsconfidential records and performs other administrative tasks as requested by theagency.Interviews sponsor families and processes financial arrangements ofsponsorship.Evaluates and assesses the effectiveness of work with clients; shows growingability to evaluate own professional development and own performance on thejob.Attends staff meetings, training programs and other agency meetings asrequested.Assists with outreach to the community through a variety of communitypresentations, including possible interactions with local media, as well as contactwith community stakeholders, service providers and / or potential clients.Provides services at any agency worksite or community partner site determinedby HIAS leadership.Serves on agency committees as assigned.Provides other related types of services as requested or assigned the supervisor.Provides services at community sites as neededREQUIREMENTS :
Bachelor's degree, preferably with a major in pre-law or the social sciences.Capacity to understand and work within the agency policies and program.Fluency in a second language preferred. Knowledge of bicultural issues.Achieve accreditation by the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) within two years of hire. Once secured, maintain accreditation in good standing. Exceptions may be subject to approval by the Director.Proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and other basic computer programs.Valid IL Driver's License, regular access to a vehicle, and auto insurance required.Job Category : Union Eligible- Program / Professional
