What are the responsibilities and job description for the Jewish Community Liaison & Clinical Specialist position at JCFS Chicago?
JCFS Chicago is seeking a Jewish Community Liaison & Clinical Specialist to serve as a resource to the synagogue community in Chicago's Northwest Suburbs and provide grief and mental health services and support throughout the greater Chicagoland area.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics:
Liaison and Clinical Services
- Build and maintain positive, collaborative working relationships with partner synagogues and other communal institutions.
- Provide consultation to clergy, congregational staff and lay leadership to increase their capacity to address the social service and mental health needs of their congregants.
- Assess needs and connect congregants and community members to appropriate JCFS Chicago and community social service and mental health resources.
- Develop and facilitate psycho-educational support groups in-person and online.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement community education programs and professional training in-person and online.
Program Support
- Collaborate with department, agency and community colleagues to assess communal needs, develop and facilitate education and support programs and services.
- Perform record-keeping functions and other duties, as required.
- Represent JCFS and its programs in a positive manner to both internal and external contacts.
- Adhere to all applicable agency policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or marriage & family therapy (LCSW, LCPC, LMFT, LCP).
- Experience facilitating psycho-educational support groups.
- Excellent organizational skills to ensure competing priorities are completed in a strategic manner.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
- Knowledge of, and experience working with, the Chicago-area Jewish community preferred.
- Able to work evenings and occasional weekends to facilitate support groups and/or present educational programming.
- As this position requires visits to locations which may or may not be accessible by public transportation, must be able to drive, have a valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and reliable access to a vehicle to travel in the Chicago metropolitan area, particularly in the northwest suburbs.

- Compensation: The minimum compensation for this position is starting at $55,000 annually. Final compensation will be determined based on experience.
