Summary/Objective
The Sorter is responsible for accurately sorting consignment products received, ensuring they meet specified company requirements. This role works closely with the Authentication team to verify product legitimacy and may collaborate with Listing and Photography to provide necessary instructions. Strong communication skills are essential to ensure a smooth transition of inbound products across departments.
Essential Functions

- Sorts consignment products from Receiving, ensuring they meet company requirements such as value, appropriateness, and authenticity.
- Researches collectible items using online resources to determine market value.
- Collaborates with management when reserves do not align with market value.
- Works within authentication guidelines to ensure all products are properly verified.
- Ensures non-accepted consignment items are returned to consignors following company policies.
- Engages with senior leadership to identify and manage non-routine consignment items.
- Communicates effectively across departments to resolve issues or concerns.
- Receives and scans incoming packages into the Pristine WMS as needed.
Work Environment
This position operates in a warehouse setting and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, printers, scanners, and copiers.
Physical Demands
The role requires the ability to regularly lift and move objects up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and move objects up to 50 pounds. It also requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, walking, and manual dexterity.
Position Type & Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with weekend hours required.
Required Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum six months of experience using Pristine WMS.
- Minimum one year of experience in the Listing Department at Pristine Auction.
