Extremely fun and interesting Hormones and Wellness Practice is looking for an eager, fun, and energetic person. The position is responsible for successfully operating all back office and necessary related front office equipment to perform their job duties. Performs all medical and clerical duties as described, requested or assigned.
The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting Providers and building professional, empathetic and positive rapport with all patients entering the back office. The Medical Assistant is responsible and accountable to the General Manager and Providers for efficiently performing the day-to-day back office duties.
The practice focuses on Hormonal Health for men and women. Other area of focus include sexual wellness, general wellness, Platelet Rich Plasma, gut health, aesthetics, and more.

As the Medical Assistant, the Employee is required to perform the following duties and undertake the following responsibilities in a professional manner.
1. Exhibits exceptional customer service skills and telephone etiquette.
2. Maintains effective, organized systems to ensure accurate and complete patient electronic medical records.
3. Ensures that all patient rooms are clean, organized and appropriately stocked with supplies.
4. Works efficiently to ensure timely patient flow for the provider at all times.
5. Escorts patients to exam or procedure rooms. Takes and documents vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, pulse, temperature and respiration in the patient EMR.
6. Ensures that all patient records for the day are prepared, complete, updated, received, and accurately filed to include all outstanding testing and medical records that were requested or ordered at their prior appointment.
7. Follows all provider orders and requests in a timely manner. Asks Questions relating to orders or requests immediately.
8. Assist providers with surgical procedures and other tasks as requested.
9. Follows up with all patients via telephone in a timely manner after any in-office procedure and appropriately documents into the patient’s electronic record. Follows up with providers as indicated or needed.
10. Helps to maintain all medical equipment and instruments. Sterilizes instruments and ensures availability for usage as needed by providers daily.
11. Helps to perform all required testing and associated log maintenance on medical equipment to ensure adherence to all OSHA, State and Federal regulations.
12. Explains, counsels, and educates patients regarding medications or other physician instructions as directed.
13. Triages and processes messages from patient’s, or physician’s/provider’s offices and pharmacies for the physician or provider in office. Follows up with the aforementioned in a timely manner per the physician/provider’s instructions.
14. Performs scheduled and unscheduled venipuncture, in a timely manner. Prepares blood specimens as indicated by the lab with the associated and completed paperwork for either pick up or delivery to UPS.
15. Prepares patients for scheduled and add on procedures to include BHRT insertion, Viveve, Botox, fillers, PRP, cortisone injections.
16. Process prior-authorizations as needed for patients.
17. Reviews patient labs as they come in and enter them into the Lab sheet for provider.
18. Complies with all HIPPA, OSHA, State and Federal regulations and standards as trained.
19. Ensures and maintains strict patient confidentiality.
20. Follows universal precautions to protect self, patient and provider.
21. Informs DOMS of any expressed or perceived patient conflict immediately.
22. Responsible for upkeep and cleanliness of the patient exam and procedure rooms.
23. Responsible for the organization and cleanliness of the nursing area.
24. Adheres to the daily lunch schedule and notifies the DOMS of issues that arise which preclude keeping the schedule in a timely manner.
25. Attends all required office meetings unless otherwise and previously excused.
26. Follows HIPPA privacy guidelines and trained in annual HIPPA training as stated in the HIPPA policy for the office.
27. All other duties as assigned or requested by the DOMS or Provider.
