Johnson City Public Library is seeking a full-time Technical Services Manager to join our Library’s leadership team. We are looking for a candidate with a demonstrated history of innovation, creative problem solving, and collaboration. This person performs supervisory and professional library work in directing the Collections Services department of the library including the acquisition of materials, cataloging and processing of materials and other related tasks. Serves as the lead for the Library’s collection management committee and on a consortium-wide cataloging committee.

Responsibilities :
- Direct the Collections Services department including acquisition, cataloging, and processing of materials.
- Lead the Library’s collection management committee.
- Participate in the consortium-wide cataloging committee.
Minimum Qualifications :
Candidates must have a thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of library science; experience with an Integrated Library System (ILS); the ability to plan, organize, and manage a public library acquisitions and cataloging department; the ability to negotiate contracts with vendors; maintain complex statistical records; knowledge of current trends and best practices in information organization; the ability to work as part of a team; and considerable knowledge of library routine and procedures.
Desirable Experience and Education : The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of TLC and Google Workspace. A master’s degree in library science and three years of professional library experience or four years of supervisory experience in a Technical Services Department is required.
This is a full-time position with competitive benefits, which include 20 vacation days annually, sick and personal leave, 13 paid holidays, health, vision, dental, and life insurance, and a fantastic working environment. Pay grade : 17, $51,280.32.
