Job Description:

Essential Duties:
- Performs and supervises the maintenance and operations of the Roeland Park Sports Dome.
- Creates, provides, and supports age-appropriate programs for patrons; ensures programs are marketed and evaluated effectively while using feedback to make improvements; develops and maintains relationships with community organizations; promotes district-wide programs and initiatives.
- Develops and maintains program area knowledge with the goal of providing valuable leisure experiences, promoting health and wellness, and meeting the needs of the patron; ensures and maintains a safe program environment.
- Supervises, hires, evaluates, trains, and schedules part-time staff to instruct and/or oversee programs.
- Develops and administers program operating budgets, including planning for equipment, and staffing needs; establishes program fees and manages expenses to operate programs at prescribed cost recovery levels.
- Participates in meetings, planning, and district-wide involvement; attends district-wide and staff meetings; participates in committees; understands and supports district-wide strategic objectives; provides support and coverage for coworkers as needed.
- Serves as a Games Director for the Kansas City Corporate Challenge. Attends board meetings and regularly scheduled meetings. Meets established deadlines in submitting rules, scheduling of the games, securing game captains, submission of bills, acquiring equipment for the games. Supervises the games throughout the season April through June.

Minimum Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Parks and Recreation, Business, or related field.
- One year experience in recreation programming.
- Two years working with the public.
- Two years problem solving.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work solo and as part of a team.
- Schedule flexibility as required for work duties.
- Must possess the ability to interact professionally with all district staff as well as the public, maintaining positive and cooperative working relationships.
- Strong time management skills.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Facility management and supervisory experience.
- Bracketing skills.
- Game management experience.
- Facility maintenance experience.
- Budget experience.

Physical, Environmental, and Special Working Conditions:
- Excessive standing and/or walking – 20% of the time.
