Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other heavy equipment to facilitate the efficient movement of goods within our distribution center. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and a commitment to maintaining safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move materials throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload shipments, ensuring accurate placement of products.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Utilize the Warehouse Management System (WMS) for tracking inventory and managing stock levels.
- Assist in shipping and receiving operations, verifying the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution center setting.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation, including cranes, is preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) as required by job duties.
- Strong mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Experience with warehouse management systems is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow safety guidelines.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
