What You'll Do

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a vital role in the preparation, review, and analysis of financial transactions for JCREMC and its subsidiaries. Your work will focus on optimizing accounting processes and utilizing automated solutions to enhance financial operations. Reporting directly to the Manager of Accounting, you will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial data.

Key Responsibilities

Review, analyze, and interpret financial data to support monthly financial close processes.
Prepare and present financial statements and metrics for management and board meetings.
Assist in budget preparation, reviews, and financial forecasting.
Ensure accurate accounting of rates, revenues, and asset records.
Analyze major capital projects against budgeted forecasts and actual results.
Complete and submit required reporting to governmental agencies.
Support continuous process improvements within the accounting and financial reporting functions.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or a related field.

A minimum of eight years of accounting experience, with strong proficiency in database management and Microsoft Excel.

In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the RUS (Rural Utilities Service) Uniform System of Accounting.

Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and confidentiality.

Strong communication skills to effectively engage with management, employees, and auditors.
