We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician to join our team at a critical facility in Baltimore, MD. This role is vital to ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the plant by maintaining, troubleshooting, and calibrating a variety of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems. Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and calibration on electrical and instrumentation systems to minimize downtime and ensure plant reliability.
- Technical Expertise: Diagnose and repair equipment using P&IDs, loop sheets, motor elementaries, and PLC/DCS control logic.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to Federal, State, and company safety regulations, including lockout/tagout procedures.
- Operational Support: Provide emergency repair support during off-hours and travel to other facilities as needed.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for operational enhancement and assist in training junior technicians.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate industrial forklifts, manlifts, skid steers, and other mobile equipment to support operations.
Required Qualifications
Experience:
- 2–5 years of experience in an industrial environment as an electrician.
- Proven experience with electrical and instrumentation systems, ideally in power generation or waste management facilities.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting motors and switchgear at 480 volts or higher.
Technical Proficiency:
- Skilled in reading and interpreting technical documentation such as P&IDs, loop sheets, and control logic diagrams.
- Familiarity with steam plant systems and turbine generator controls.
Preferred Skills
- Formal planning experience.
- Expertise in troubleshooting and maintaining high-voltage systems.
- Ability to operate industrial equipment, including forklifts and manlifts.
