What are the responsibilities and job description for the ABL Business Development Officer position at JCW?
JCW is partnered with a leading non-bank commercial financial firm with offices in the United States and Canada that provides working capital solutions to small and medium sized businesses. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented professional to contribute to a dynamic Lower Middle Market Business Finance group. This role does not require direct sales experience and would be a perfect transition for a collateral analyst, underwriter, or portfolio manager who has focused on ABL deals to move into an originations role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop new markets and client relationships in line with the sales strategy.
- Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships to drive business growth through networking, prospecting, and referrals.
- Structure, present, and negotiate financing solutions with clients and their advisors.
- Collaborate with underwriting and credit teams to analyze transactions and prepare proposals.
- Research industry trends and recommend new offerings to support strategic growth.
- Expand and manage a referral network of financial professionals.
- Track sales activity in CRM (Salesforce), ensuring accurate and timely data entry.
- Conduct due diligence, including site visits, document collection, and transaction closing assistance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent experience in factoring or asset-based lending (ABL).
- 1-3 years of ABL credit experience in a bank or non-bank ABL team.
- Proficiency in evaluating ABL collateral, including accounts receivable, inventory, and machinery & equipment.
- Experience conducting or analyzing ABL field exams and collateral reviews.
- Ability to develop and execute a sales strategy, meeting regional sales targets.
- Strong financial analysis skills and ability to interpret company financials.
- Proven ability to collaborate with internal teams and external clients to drive business success.
