My client is looking for a skilled Market Risk professional to join their Financial Risk and Governance (FR&G) team which plays a critical role in identifying, measuring, monitoring, and controlling risks related to clearing and settlement processes. This team ensures robust policies, procedures, and governance frameworks are in place to meet both organizational and regulatory standards. The role will focus on equity market risk, overseeing daily operations, member surveillance, and risk mitigation strategies to maintain the integrity of financial markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of equity market risk associates and analysts across global offices.
- Oversee and approve daily work to ensure quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Identify and address changes in members’ market risk exposures, liquidity needs, and settlement obligations.
- Monitor market conditions and economic trends to anticipate and mitigate risks effectively.
- Ensure adherence to risk management policies and procedures, resolving issues and maintaining ethical standards.
- Collaborate on internal audits, regulatory exams, and risk assessments while developing remediation plans.
- Drive projects and process enhancements to mitigate emerging risks for new and existing products.
Qualifications
- 8 years of relevant experience in financial risk management.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of equity markets, financial products, and clearing/settlement operations.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to foster inclusion, communicate effectively, and build cross-functional relationships.
- Proactive mindset focused on accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Salary : $155,000 - $180,000
