Position Summary:
The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial reporting and accounting operations. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in both public accounting and private industry experience within the asset management sector. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Senior Accountant will ensure compliance with all accounting standards while contributing to process improvements and efficient reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses.
- Oversee accounting for investment vehicles, including fund-level reporting and allocations.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant accounting standards for asset management entities.
- Assist with audit preparation and coordination with external auditors.
- Support tax teams with information related to reporting and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with other departments, including operations and compliance, to streamline processes and ensure accurate financial data.
- Contribute to process enhancements and system implementations to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- CPA designation is required.
- 5 years of experience in a combination of public accounting and private industry, with a focus on asset management.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting standards, and investment accounting.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
