Job Title: Senior Tax Accountant

JCW is partnered with a law firm seeking a highly motivated Senior Tax Accountant with expertise in partnership tax compliance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in preparing and reviewing partnership tax returns, as well as a strong understanding of tax laws and regulations related to pass-through entities. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our tax function and support our overall financial objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for partnerships, including Form 1065 and related schedules, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors to support tax planning initiatives, resolve tax-related issues, and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
- Assist in the calculation and documentation of quarterly and annual tax provisions for partnership entities, including the analysis of partnership allocations and distributions.
- Stay informed of changes in tax laws and regulations that may impact partnership taxation, and communicate implications to relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, and operations, to provide tax guidance and support for business initiatives and transactions involving partnerships.
- Assist in the development and implementation of tax policies, procedures, and controls to ensure accuracy, consistency, and efficiency in partnership tax compliance.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff members, fostering their professional development and growth within the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.
- 4 years of experience in partnership tax compliance, preferably in a public accounting firm or corporate tax department. Operating partnership experience or prior law firm experience is a huge plus.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations related to partnership taxation.
- Experience with partnership tax software (e.g., ProSystem fx Tax, Lacerte) and ERP systems; proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex tax issues and provide strategic recommendations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in tax reporting and compliance.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
