Role Overview:
They are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Tax Associate to join their tax department. This position will focus on the partnership compliance needs of our hedge fund, private equity, and real estate clients. The Senior Tax Associate will play a key role in ensuring compliance with tax regulations, managing tax filings, and supporting tax strategy initiatives for complex investment structures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the partnership compliance process for hedge fund, private equity, and real estate entities.
- Prepare and review tax returns, including Form 1065, Schedule K-1, and related state filings.
- Review tax workpapers and ensure accurate tax reporting for complex partnership structures.
- Coordinate with fund managers, clients, and external auditors on tax compliance matters.
- Research and stay current on tax laws and regulations affecting partnerships in alternative investments.
- Provide strategic tax planning and guidance to senior leadership and portfolio managers.
- Mentor junior team members and assist with training and development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MST is a plus.
- 3-8 years of experience in partnership tax compliance, preferably with a focus on hedge funds, private equity, or real estate.
- Strong knowledge of partnership taxation, including tax filings, tax law, and regulations.
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and internal teams.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work independently.
