Job Title: Tax Director, Management Company Team
JCW is working with a top-rated asset management firm on a Tax Manager/Senior Tax Manager opening. In this role, you will manage tax compliance, reporting, and planning for the firm’s management company entities, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and optimizing tax efficiency. This position requires strong technical knowledge in corporate tax compliance, investment management, and effective collaboration across teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tax Compliance & Reporting: Oversee the preparation and filing of federal, state, and international tax returns for the management company, ensuring accuracy and timely filing.
- Tax Planning & Strategy: Support tax planning initiatives to minimize tax liabilities, manage tax risks, and align tax strategies with business goals.
- Financial Reporting: Work with the accounting team to ensure accurate tax provisions and disclosures in financial statements, in accordance with U.S. GAAP and applicable tax rules.
- Audit Support: Assist in managing tax audits, responding to IRS inquiries, and coordinating with external advisors as necessary.
- Research & Analysis: Stay current with tax law changes, providing insights into potential impacts on the firm’s operations and developing solutions for compliance and efficiency.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with legal, accounting, and investment teams to address tax implications of business activities and transactions.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or J.D. with a focus in tax preferred.
- Experience: 6 years of experience in tax, preferably within asset management or financial services. Strong understanding of management company taxation is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of U.S. federal and state corporate tax laws, partnership taxation, and tax compliance. International tax knowledge is a plus.
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with tax compliance software (e.g., OneSource, Corptax) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with senior leadership and external advisors.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Salary : $200,000 - $350,000
