Position: Merchandising Assistant
The merchandising assistant provides a high level of support for JDH commodities merchandisers, its customers, and its suppliers.
Position Responsibilities:
- Transaction management - Manage all levels of transactions in regards to shipping tickets, applications to contracts, vouchers, invoices. Ensure vendors are paid timely. Ensure discounts related to grain quality are accurate.
- Contract management – Manage all levels of contract application. Reconcile contracts with customers. Monitor past due contracts. Close contracts when fulfilled. Ensure tickets are paid or invoiced on correct contract terms.
- Inventory management – Assist controller in inventory management. Troubleshoot scale ticket issues in accounting and scale programs. Reconcile offsite inventories with transload 3rd parties.
- Order maintenance – Assist merchandiser with order/schedule maintenance. Provide backup for the order entry desk to ensure deliveries are scheduled correctly. Assist order entry desk with contract application issues.
- Customer service – Provide courteous, accurate, and timely customer service to customers and suppliers. Assist customers and suppliers with contract reconciliation. Trouble shoot pricing and delivery issues. Provide information as requested by the customer or supplier.
Compensation:
- Base Salary – TBD and commensurate with skill and experience levels

Requirements
- Associates/Bachelor’s degree desired; agriculture and/or accounting background preferred.
- High level of detail, multi-tasking, and problem solving
- Positive, self-motivated individual with organization, communication, and negotiation skills; commitment to continuous learning

- Ability to analyze and interpret technical procedures.
