SUMMARY:
The Staff Accountant role helps maintain the business unit accounting duties. A successful Accountant will meet all month end deadlines as well as expectations from internal and external customers and assist with office management responsibilities and accounting functions as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post month-end journal entries
- Perform inventory analysis and reconciliation
- Reconcile various balance sheet accounts and make sure any open issues are resolved in the following month
- Complete month end reporting and analysis in a timely manner
- Assist with year-end audit and tax requests
- Assist with tracking capital expenditures
- Assist with ERP Conversion project as needed across the organization
- Prepare accurate ad-hoc reports as requested from management
- Assist with entering accounts payable vouchers as needed
- Transaction management - manage all levels of transactions in regards to shipping tickets, applications to contracts, vouchers, invoices. Reconcile vendor statements and ensure invoices are paid timely.
- Order maintenance – assist merchandiser with order/schedule maintenance
- Customer service – provide courteous, accurate, and timely customer service to customers and suppliers.
- Other duties and projects as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required plus relevant work experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting and auditing principles and practices.
- High level of proficiency with Excel required
- Commitment to strong customer service
- Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
