Our Carpenters use their craftsmanship and creativity to build amazing projects for various live events such as auto shows, trade shows and festivals.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter Helper to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry, with expertise in working with a variety of building materials beyond wood, such as metal, plastics, MDF, Composite and more. This role requires a creative mindset, precision, and the ability to work collaboratively with designers, project managers, and other team members to construct high-quality exhibits and displays that exceed client expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, or other materials according to project specifications.
- Operate a variety of woodworking machines, as well as hand and power tools, with precision and safety.
- Under supervision, prepare and organize project materials by measuring, cutting, and laminating.
- Attach parts and subassemblies together to form completed units, using dowels, nails, screws and/or clamps.
- Build Complexed structures, housing and creative installations while maintaining budgets.
- Collaborate with account managers to determine the most suitable materials and techniques for each project.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications to ensure accuracy and adherence to design intent.
- Inspect and review work at various stages of production to ensure it meets company standards for quality, safety, and durability.
- Work closely with designers, project managers, and other tradespeople to solve problems and ensure that projects are completed on time and to the highest standard.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on existing exhibits and displays as needed, ensuring longevity and continued client satisfaction.
- Build, repair, install items, such as cabinet, counter tops, shelving, moldings, and partition walls.
- Install hardware such as hinges, handles, catches, drawers, pulls and slides.
- Adhere to all Safety policies and procedures.
- Complete preventative maintenance, troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment; help with warehousing as needed.
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience in woodshop tools and carpentry techniques.
- Well versed in various finished work such as laminate, melamine, and moldings
- Strong understanding of construction techniques, tools, and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and design specifications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Schedule flexibility to meet deadlines.
- Portfolio or work samples required to showcase past projects.
- Flexible travel for any large-scale builds that need oversight.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, crawl, climb, reach overhead, crouch, kneel, balance, push, pull and safely lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds or more.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in fluctuating temperatures.
- Ability to work under adverse situations and conditions (e.g., dirty, noisy, etc.).
- Ability to work safely at heights including the use of ladders, scaffolds, and other related equipment.
Pay Scale $30 - $36 DOE /Temp to hire
