Title: Project Finance Associate
I'm working with a dedicated renewable energy private equity platform focused on originating and managing investments across the clean energy spectrum. They deploy flexible capital solutions in partnership with developers, IPPs, and infrastructure sponsors to support the energy transition.
Overview:
We're seeking a Project Finance Associate with strong financial acumen and transaction execution experience to join our growing investment team. This role will focus on the structuring and execution of capital markets activities including debt financing, tax equity, and M&A across the renewable energy sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead detailed financial modeling and structuring for project-level and platform-level transactions, including debt (construction/term), tax equity, and hybrid capital instruments.
- Support and execute M&A activities, including diligence, valuation, transaction structuring, and negotiations with counterparties.
- Engage in capital raising efforts with banks, tax equity investors, and other capital providers.
- Conduct in-depth credit and risk analysis on potential investments and financing opportunities.
- Collaborate with legal, technical, and commercial teams to manage transaction workstreams, including data rooms, diligence requests, and documentation review.
- Prepare internal and external presentations, investment committee memos, and board materials.
- Track market trends and maintain active relationships with capital providers and financial advisors.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in project finance, investment banking, private equity, or structured finance—ideally within the solar, renewables, or energy markets.
- Deep understanding of project finance structures, with direct exposure to debt financing, tax equity, or M&A transactions.
- Proficient in financial modeling, valuation, and capital structure analysis.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and transaction management skills.
